The greatest luxury in a man’s wardrobe aren’t the pieces that the world sees front and centre, but the things less easily discerned, or even hidden from the world. 
Crisp, starched sheets, perfectly tailored pyjamas, cashmere socks to wear about the house - the luxury that is for the most part, reserved for your own appreciation.
The shirt can land somewhere close to this. So often nothing more than a collar and cuffs peeking from the suit, it can speak a little more softly than the garments taking centre stage.
My “Perfect OCBD” is how that workhorse of a shirt should be, with a high rolling collar and an extra button at the back of the collar to keep everything in place. A wider box pleat and locker loop for a little ease and grace through the back, long tails with gussets to stay firmly seated in the trouser. Shirred tucks, a throwback to the beautiful “Arrow” shirts of the 1930’s, on a curved, single button cuff, that thanks to its design follows the shape of the wrist. Mother of pearl buttons, finish it as it should be.
It’s my perfect OCBD.
